Is It Worth It? Too Faced Chocolate Gold Palette

1/18/2018

I have been seeing this palette just about everywhere now, and I must admit the packaging is very tempting with gold dripping all around, it's very pretty, but the one question that goes through my mind is "is it worth it? ". So after a few weeks of looking at this palette and swatching in my local Ulta, I finally convinced myself to make this purchase. The Too Faced Chocolate Gold palette retails for $49.00 and comes with 16 eyeshadows which I estimated at $3.06 per eyeshadow, basically this eyeshadow palette is not cheap.  When it comes to other prestige brands it not the most expensive palette, it is more mid-range priced. My pro's are this palette is very universal and works well with all skin tones. I love how the shadows look with my skin tone and also the shadows are very pigmented without being overpowering. I'm not a professional makeup artist so I want to feel like I have some control over the application without it being a total disaster. Another pro (or it may be a con to some people) is that this palette smell like chocolate, which it does states that is cocoa infused.

The shades are:

Money Bags (metallic warm green)

Chocolate Gold (metallic pure gold)

Rich Girl (metallic silvered taupe)

Cocoa Truffle (matte chocolate brown)

Decadent (matte deep black)

Love & Cocoa (metallic deep bronze)

Old Money (metallic pure copper)

New Money (metallic shocking pink)

Famous (metallic pure bronze)

Classy & Sassy (metallic rose gold)

So Boujee (matte cashmere)

Holla For A Dolla (metallic golden hunter)

Gold Dipped (metallic champagne gold)

Livin' Lavish (metallic plum)

Drippin' Diamond (metallic pure silver)

Rollin' In Dough (matte soft beige)

I am loving the names of these eyeshadows ! The shadows do apply with a soft touch, you are able to have a neutral base with the matte shades with adding subtle touches of the metallic shades, and of course you can go all out with a full glam of the the metallic shades. Overall if you are the type where you only like matte neutral shades an no metallics then this platte isn't for you. But if you enjoy a little sparkle in your look whether it's a subtle touch, or full on beaming then you will enjoy this palette. I have been using this palette almost daily since purchasing it.

If you have purchased the Too Faced Chocolate Gold palette, was it worth it to you?

My Review:
In my opinion the December PopSugar must have box had a good mixture of every aspect of what the PopSugar monthly boxes trys to provide with beauty, fashion, home and lifestyle products. The Tilo twilight scarf is really nice with a neutral soft gray color, but the only con is from being subscribed to this subscription box for a while I have accumulated a lot of scarfs from previous boxes , but if you are person that wears scarfs often this may be a trend you love. Also the Chole + Isabel  Pave long necklace is such a nice accessory with a sparkle factor, but in my case I was a little disappointed when I noticed that the clasp was broken right out the packing. I love the Lalicious sugar scrub the scent is great and not overpowering and the scrub left my skin so smooth with the coconut and sweet almond oil that this product has. Also the Ashkahn gift tag I definitely use for Christmas, which was a plus and the few remaining tags I do have left, will be used for other gifting occasions such as birthdays. The Bauble Bar coaster set was a nice touch and came in handy right along for the new year.

If you have the December PopSugar Must Have Box what products did you like? and what are some that was a miss?

7 NightTime Products To Use In Your Skincare Routine

1/04/2018

My Night Time Skincare routine consist of

Simple Kind To Skin Cleansing Facial Wipes
I love these facial wipes, I use them for removing makeup and to simply refresh my face at times, I keep repurchasing these wipes. The wipes contains no dyes, no artificial perfumes and no harsh irritants, also contains no oil and no alcohol.

Mario Badescu Glycolic Foaming Cleanser
I only use this cleanser at night, lately have been dealing with hyper pigmentation spots cause from acne, and I came across this cleaner to help even out the skin and decide to purchased based off the good reviews. Instruction states exfoliate with this cleanser up to three time a week to help dissolve dulling dead skin, refine pore and retexturize uneven skin.

Kate Somerville ExfoliKate - Intensive Exfoliating Treatment
I recently came across the product in a subscription box it is described that it can be used on all skin types. Helps with uneven texture/dullness, pores and dark spots and uneven skin tones.

Mario Badescu Glycolic Acid Toner
Along with the Mario Badescu Glycolic Foaming Cleanser, I purchased the toner for the same reasons. This is formulated with 2% Glycolic Acid and grapefruit extract and stated to help reduced discoloration from old acne scars.

Mario Badescu Ceramide Herbal Eye Cream
This eye cream is very light weight and moisturizing, formulated with euphrasia extract and rose hip oil, a natural source of vitamin C.

***The last two skin care items I mix together***

Peter Thomas Roth Pro- Strength 3% Retinoid Plus
Its an overnight anti-aging treatment use to improve the look of fine line and wrinkle and even skin tones. With using the product you must use a daytime moisturizer that contains SPF and with this product I only use a small amount and limit to every other day.

Farmacy Sleep Tight Firming Night Balm
This is a balm that helps moisturize, supports firming and toning and can be used for all skin types. This product does feel a little greasy, but as it wears that feeling goes away. A little goes a long way. Formulated with naturally derived ingredients and is not tested on animals.

There it is my night time skincare routine! Its geared toward reducing the discoloration from acne scaring, anti-aging, reducing dullness and moisturizing.

What products do you use in your night time skincare routine?
